lover of the light

I love light.
Doesn't it look so whimsical?
I love this event space, that's part of Elephants Delicatessen in NW Portland.
I shot a reception here last month and the view from the outside in was absolutely lovely.
It just looks so warm and cozy inside and I love all things warm and cozy.

light

“I stand on the edge of these wetlands, a place of renewal, an oasis in the desert, as an act of faith, believing the sun has completed the southern end of its journey and is now contemplating its return toward light.” –Terry Tempest Williams

(note: this is one of my favorite spots on bainbridge island, thought i would add in a little glimpse of home)

oh heavenly day

Sometimes I just need a little adventure and time to get away from the city. Sometimes that leads me to random towns like Silverton, last sunday it led me to Dundee, OR also known as wine country. I followed the text instructions from my dear friend Mari and headed up to the vineyard rich hills. I drove up the hill with no destination in mind and pulled over the second I saw this grove of trees.
For a good twenty minutes, I was a giddy little girl running around these trees and gushing over the beautiful light and the sheer number of trees and how there were absolutely no people around.
It was perfect.

trees (Nov 6th)

I love this light.
Notice: those sclupted men running through the park on the right.
Kind of fun.
Wish I had time to roam around this park rather than just drive by it!

Fall drives (Oct 28th)

Driving at sunset is my favorite

Dewy Morning (Oct 26th)

I eat up this morning sunlight.
I just need to make an effort to wake up early enough to see it.

Spiderwebs in Sunlight (Oct 25th)

One of my new favorite loves: spiderwebs in the morning sun.

Goldeny Goodness (Oct 24th)

Pictures from my parent's yard at sunrise.
