My little cousin Brian is getting married this summer. I'm thrilled for him and Jen to start a new adventure together. And they are perhaps one of the cutest couples out there (see second photo). I had to include that first photo purely for a little hilarity. We were re-enacting a photo my cousin took of Brian in Spokane that was clearly a scenic shot until brian stuck his head into the corner of the picture. Oh, good times.
I love Christmas trees. If there is one nearby, I'll be sitting by it.
One of my customers was telling me about her little girl, Harper and how they other morning she came downstairs at 5am to find her daughter wide awake and just quietly watching the tree. It's so sweet. If I didn't have the hardest time waking up early, that would be me, too.
My friend Josh sent me this video with a music recommendation for the band Radical Face. (How amazing is that band name? Makes me think of kids naming a pet. )
I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes. e. e. cummings
Long lay the world in sin and error pining, Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth. A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
(one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite christmas songs)
My roommate Jeannie made this. She was inspired by the amazing advent decorations at Imago Dei Community and decided to bring a bit of that into our house.
I'm rarely in the kitchen actually cooking anything, but in the winter I can't get enough bake time in. I absolutely love baking cookies and pies and other goodies. Thank goodness I live with a house full of people to help me eat it all or I would take on a good 25lbs over the holidays.
But boy did I absolutely love watching home videos of this kid at previous holiday years ago with his hilarious attitude. I love home videos. They are so embarrassing but there's nothing you can do, but laugh. a lot.
