merry christmas (Dec 25th)

My sister-in-law made this.
She's a craft queen!
I love it.

gingerbread village (Dec 24th)

Easy Street (Dec 23rd)

I got my nephews t-shirts from Easy Street Records, my favorite music store of all time.
They were pretty stoked. I'll have to take them with me next time.

B (Dec 22nd)

My little cousin Brian is getting married this summer. I'm thrilled for him and Jen to start a new adventure together. And they are perhaps one of the cutest couples out there (see second photo). I had to include that first photo purely for a little hilarity. We were re-enacting a photo my cousin took of Brian in Spokane that was clearly a scenic shot until brian stuck his head into the corner of the picture. Oh, good times.

childlike faith (Dec 21st)

They say that I can move the mountains
And send them crashing into the sea
They say that I can walk on water
If I would follow and believe
with faith like a child

Sometimes, when I feel miles away
and my eyes can't see your face
I wonder if I've grown to lose the recklessness
I walked in light of you

They say that love can heal the broken
They say that hope can make you see
They say that faith can find a Savior
If you would follow and believe
with faith like a child .
- Jars of Clay

I feel like children have a faith that you can see on their faces.
It's beautiful.

kiddos (Dec 20th)

Kids are a glimpse of heaven aren't they?

Christmas ornaments (Dec 19th)

I love Christmas trees. If there is one nearby, I'll be sitting by it.
One of my customers was telling me about her little girl, Harper and how they other morning she came downstairs at 5am to find her daughter wide awake and just quietly watching the tree. It's so sweet. If I didn't have the hardest time waking up early, that would be me, too.

Good tunes: 'Welcome Home'

My friend Josh sent me this video with a music recommendation for the band Radical Face. (How amazing is that band name? Makes me think of kids naming a pet. )
I love it and wanted to share with you all.
Happy Monday!

cookie bakin' (Dec 18th)

I am a cookie bakin' machine when it gets cold out.
I'm also a stress baker.
I had to explain that to my friend Janine from Germany.
She thought that was the funniest thing.

flutterbies (Dec 17th)

I love these butterflies in my window.
The stand out at night.
I like that.

yes. (Dec 16th)

I thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.

a rose has its thorns (Dec 15th)

You can complain
because roses have thorns,
or you can rejoice
because thorns have roses.

Let there be light (Dec 14th)

And God said, Let there be light:and there was light.
And God saw that the light was good.
Genesis 1:3-4

Mad Hatter Tea Party (Dec 13th)

Crooked tea cups (Dec 12th)

curse your branches (Dec 11th)

Oh, falling leaves should curse their branches
For not letting them decide where they should fall
And not letting them refuse to fall at all
-Dave Bazaan

oh christmas tree (Dec 10th)

I practically live by our Christmas tree.
Anytime I'm home, this is where you'll find me.

The soul felt its worth (Dec 8th)

Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

(one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite christmas songs)
the soul felt its worth
sigh...powerful, right?

Christmas Wreath (Dec 7th)

My roommate Jeannie made this. She was inspired by the amazing advent decorations at Imago Dei Community and decided to bring a bit of that into our house.
I love this.

feathery headbands (Dec 6th)

I love feathers.
I love them even more as a pretty headband.
It's a party in your hair, how could you not love that?

mmm...(Dec 5th)

I'm rarely in the kitchen actually cooking anything, but in the winter I can't get enough bake time in. I absolutely love baking cookies and pies and other goodies. Thank goodness I live with a house full of people to help me eat it all or I would take on a good 25lbs over the holidays.

bridal shower bouquet (Dec 4th)

Is this amazing or what?
This is my lovely roomie who is getting hitched in February.
This is her amazing bridal shower bouquet made by Mel (craft bouquet maker extraordinaire).
I love the bouquet and Karyn's face.
Wedding? Game. On.

Sunset (Dec 3rd)

"Just remember Fievel, one man's sunset is another man's dawn"

Collin's musical talents (Nov 27th)

My nephew makes up songs and jingles all the time.
I think he'll be a musician or a songwriter.
This one is about fishing :)
What a cutie, eh?

Lovely Lisa (Nov 26th)

Sister in Law
in window light.
I love window light.

oh mom (Nov 25th)

My mom makes the. best. faces.
This is usually the face I get when I first say,
"hey mom, smile!"

But then, she realizes that I update photo blogs and fb etc and smiles nicely.
I call this one, "senior portrait"

Cylis (Nov 24th)

My nephew Cylis. He's so grown up now.
But boy did I absolutely love watching home videos of this kid at previous holiday years ago with his hilarious attitude. I love home videos. They are so embarrassing but there's nothing you can do, but laugh. a lot.

Snow.Man. (Nov 23rd)

I think it's crazy how snow men can have so much character.

Collin (Nov 22nd)

This is my nephew Collin. These are his new glasses.
He is practically Harry Potter, am I right?
Love this kid.

Sister.In.Law (Nov 21st)

Love this girl.

Donut picture (Nov 20th)

There was laughter. There were tears. And there were donuts.
