The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (April 21st)

Hope (April 20th)

Butterflies in the window (April 18th)

I pretty much have the greatest friends you can ask for and came home to butterflies hanging in my window. So magical and pretty. I love them.

Long ride home (April 17th)

The last leg of my way home from Haiti, a ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge.
It was beautiful as ever.

Santo Domingo (April 16th)

I loved these guys just reading the paper on the bench. Everyone else was winding down a busy day of shopping or coming out for a night on the town, but these guys, they were just reading the paper.

Dominican Republic (April 15th)

We toured one of the bates (ba-tays) or villages that Children of the Nations partners with and supports.
So many sweet people out in this village for us to talk with and meet.

Andres (April 14th)

I love this boy. He is so strong and so sweet and he is facing so much at such a young age.
He's been heavy on my heart this week.

Miracle (April 12th)

smiles (April 11th)

Doesn't quite look to be a real smile..but a good effort.

Flooded Triage Tent (April 10th)

The night we arrived at the Love a Child Field Hospital, the rains came and didn't stop for hours. Within the hour tents were flooded, lakes formed and we had a problem on our hands.
With many of the patient tents flooding as well as the triage tent, the camp had several loads of gravel brought in for repairs so the rains wouldn't continually flood the camp.
We all did some gravel shoveling during the week.
The triage tent got hit the worst so we had to put a done of gravel down.

Love a Child Field Hospital (April 9th)

This is the view from our tent.
Beautiful.

Republica Dominicana (April 8th)

a long trip to Haiti (April 7th)

So my lovely cousin Erin took this picture. I don't think I took a picture of my trip as I started off. I was lucky enough to run into her on the same ferry into Seattle. It couldn't have worked out more perfectly. I had many a heavy suitcase and not enough arms to get them all on the ferry. She was a lifesaver and good company for my trip across the water.

believe. (April 6th)

This one's for Karyn. Karyn and I have a running competition on our words all over the house. Her word is believe and my word is hope.
It's fun to be inspired as I walk around the house :)
I was packing at my parents house with my stuff strewn all over the room. I went to grab my big backpack that I really only take on out of country trips and as I picked it up this little gold necklace pendant fell out.
Believe.
It was nice to have the encouragement of
Another well placed reminder.

easter eggs!

We decided to color Easter Eggs at the house tonight. We had a blast! Nothing like some hard boiled eggs and food coloring to make you feel five again :)

vintage valentine (March 31st)

I'm a sucker for anything old, well maybe not old food.
